KIKO Lip Gloss Pencil
As some of you may already know I recently went to Oxford for the weekend, and found KIKO cosmetics. Well in a way I wish I didn't, amazing quality prices for crazily low prices.....turned out to be quite dangerous for my bank account.

This is the KIKO Lip Gloss Pencil, yes I know what your thinking because it's exactly what i was thinking. A lip gloss pencil? How is that even possible? Well it is, and KIKO have done it beautifully well. This lip gloss pencil goes onto the lips like any normal lip gloss but in a pencil form, which has weirded me out to the max but I am so impressed with it that I'm willing to put the weirdness to one side.

The great thing about this lip gloss pencil is that it isn't sticky, you know what I mean, that usual horrible stickiness that you get with liquid lip gloss that when your hair blows into it it gets coated in it. No, not with this. Plus with it being a pencil lip gloss you can still get that super sharp outline of  the lips without needing to necessarily apply a lipstick or lip liner.

This lip gloss pencil does have anti-aging Vitamin E enriched in it so it's beneficial to your lips too, who said make up is all bad hey. It's super pigmented as you can see from the swatch below and is really moisturising and soft on the lips. If you prefer a more soft light luminous lip look, then you can apply a thin layer of this to the lips and build up the intensity to your desired coverage.

KIKO Shape & Shimmer Eyebrow Pencil

KIKO Shape and Shimmer Eyebrow Pencil

So I recently spent the weekend in Oxford with my partner for his birthday, and we hit Bicester village hard, but along the way I found a KIKO store....holy mother of make up I have never been so in love!

From refraining myself from buying the whole shop, I picked up a couple of bits from the Oxford store, one of which is this KIKO Shape & Shimmer Eyebrow and Highlighter Pencil in 03 Dark Chestnut and Brunettes. This is a double ended pencil which has a dark chestnut colour one end to create the shape of your eyebrow and a pinky highlighter the other end to enhance your brow bone.

This pencil is a wax based formula so it glides onto the eyebrow and arch so easily, and can be smudged out if you make a mistake without messing up the rest of your make up. The brow pencil end has a ultra fine tip for a wax pencil and a super natural matte finish, so you get perfectly defined  sculpted eyebrows in a couple of sweeps and they last all day. Now the highlighter end is something else, I have never had an eyebrow duo with such an incredibly pigmented highlighter before!

This duo is available in 3 shades; 01 Light Chestnut and Blonds, 02 Auburn and Redheads and the one I have 03 Dark Chestnut and Brunettes. So no matter what your complexion or hair colour, this duo will suit you to a T. Plus the retractable pencil doesn't need sharpening so for a lazy person like me it's a dream product!

Tignanello Soft Pebble Texture Medium Shoulder Bag

Tignanello Soft Pebble Texture Medium Shoulder Bag

This bag was brought for me for my 21st Birthday off my lovely Mum and Dad, this bag screams luxury and grown-up-ness (yes I'm making that a word), this is from Tignanello so it channels Italian luxury throughout.

As the bag is inspired by Italian craftsmanship, the Tignanello bag mixes a different form but with so much functionality making it the perfect stylish but conversation talker. This is the Tignanello Soft Pebble Texture Medium Shoulder Bag with Detachable Strap, in Honey/White, and it is beautiful. The bag is super soft and with the pebble texture it makes it a bit of more edgy, the colour block design is a bit more 'out there' for me but paired with the right outfit it does look exquisite. The bag has multiple organisational areas all over the place, so for someone like me who just shoves everything into the main compartment and hopes for the best, this bag is a life saver for meetings, going out etc.

The bag has two large zipped compartments, and a main magnetic compartment in the centre. On the outside of the bag you have two open pockets on one side, and a zipped pocket on the other side. The bag has metal hardware all over, and has a detachable strap which gives the option of the classic over the shoulder way/ crook of the arm way, or a more relaxed over the shoulder but hanging lower way.

I love this bag for everyday use, but especially for days when I'm not feeling like dressing up this bag helps to make me look like I made some form of effort. If your looking for a gift for someone who may not pick something like this themselves, then this will definitely be a different but perfect present.

ASDA Flat Knee High Boots

ASDA Flat Knee High Boots

DUPE ALERT! First things first, these boots are a dupe for the River Island Zip Side Knee High Flat Boots, I got both pairs of these boots for £40.00 instead of £65.00 for one pair....just saying. I wasn't actually looking for any particular style of boot when looking for some new boots but when stumbling across these I knew they had to be the ones'. Like they say, when the shoe fits buy it in every colour, literally.

I got these boots in Black and Chocolate, both in Size 6 and they fit like an absoloute dream! Imagine the most tailored fit boots you own and double the comfort, that summarises these boots. You can pair these boots with anything, from skinny jeans to dresses to skirts they make any outfit so smart. The front is a faux suede design and the back of the boot has an elasticated back to add extra comfort and also adds more of a fitted look to the leg.

The brown pair are a super rich deep chocolate brown, with gold zip detailing on the outerside of the boot and a simple discreet brown zip on the inner leg of the boot so you can zip up the boot up with ease without having to faff with the outer zip.  Whilst the black are super black which in some boots you can find that there more a grey/black but these are as black as ink, which is beautiful! The Black features silver detailing on the outside and black on the inside to give the illusion of a more streamline look. Both pairs have a small block heel to add a bit of height, and considering I have flat feet I always try to go for boots with a good sole. These boots are so perfect for Autumn/Winter/Spring and I have been living in them recently!! So if your after the most perfect pair of boots without compromising on quality or price, look no further.

Clinique Lash Power Mascara

Clinique Lash Power Mascara

If your a regular reader to the blog or just know me you know my obsession with the Max Factor mascara, then you know I believe nothing can replace it or out do it. Until I was in Bicester Village and came across The Cosmetics Company Store, which have tones of brands including Clinique, Mac, Este Lauder etc and this mascara was reduced ... so why not try out a new one?

This is the Clinique Lash Power Mascara Long Wearing Formula, in Black, and I am impressed. I know, you'd never thought I'd say it I am impressed with another mascara that isn't Max Factor...I am in shock myself but this stuff is so worth the money. It vows to look pretty for 24 hours without smudging or smearing, and I can vouch for this, I can put this on in the morning and it doesn't budge, crease, smear, smudge, transfer etc nothing until I take it off in the evening. Plus, if you apply this in the morning and want to vamp it up in the evening you can relayer this on top of your existing layer and it won't go clumpy at all.

With one application I found that it can really lengthen and emphasise my lashes, like so so so much, it's incredible. It did take me a bit of time to get used to the brush because it's a medium length but is so skinny that you don't feel like it's not going to do anything to your lashes but when you apply it, it's very wet and really coats each lash individually. This mascara has withstood walking the dog in the rain, humidity, sweating it out at the gym, and coffee with friends, so it really sticks around but it can come off so easily when used with a good cleanser too, so it's not like the Benefit mascaras' which take forever and a day to take off.

As you can see from my photo below, one coat of the mascara, it really emphasises and lengthened my lashes. The brush reached even the tiniest tiny lashes on the inner corner of the eye without getting mascara all over the place. It's also Ophthalmologist tested so it's suitable for all skin types, which is amazing!

Nike Womens Flex Trainers

Nike Womens Flex Trainers

So I went to Resorts World in Birmingham and I went to the NIKE Factory Store...Well I probably shouldn't have but who can say no to amazing quality products at super low prices - well that's what I'm justifying it with anyway.

These are the Nike Womens' Flex Trainers, these trainers are specifically designed for training in the gym or outdoors, and are super comfy for cardio at the gym too. They offer medium support to your feet and have a solid sole to ensure stability.

These are more flexible than the Nike Roshe Run trainers but do offer a more stable sole. These where meant to be full retail price but thanks to Resorts World Birmingham, Nike Factory Store I got these for a discounted rate, amazing! The shoe features a outer mesh lining around the sides of the shoe and toe area, this allows your foot to breath whilst training and helps to keep you cool. These shoes come with the grey laces as you can see below but also come with an alternative of the black laces.

These shoes have amazing cushioning around the ankle area which, when your doing squats  to build the boot-ay you need all the support you can get. The actual depth of the fabric of the shoe is a medium build, it's not as thin as something like the flyknits but not as thick as something like an air max, but this does make them so much more desirable to me. There is cushioning in shoe on areas like the ball of your foot and the heel area, which for gym/training work is where you need it most, plus having a rubber finish at the front of the shoe ensures stability and helps to reduce wobbling when doing something like a plank or push up, way to go Nike.

My Favourite Autumn Scarfs’

My Favourite Autumn Scarfs’

It’s officially Autumn, yes I know it is depressing that what little Summer we had here in England has already been and gone in a flash but it does mean that Christmas is round the corner! So the blog will be overrun with Autumn and Christmas posts soon – How exciting!! Today I thought I’d talk to you guys about my Autumn/Winter staple, Scarfs. Scarfs, scarfs and more scarfs, there the most versatile accessory there is.

They come in all different shapes, sizes and colours and never ever go ‘out of fashion’ they can be used by the very young and the very old, so there’s never an age limit. Autumn/Winter is the time where I go under my bed and dig out my warmer scarf box, the box where I know my staples will always be on trend, in a way. So here’s a few of my very favourite ones’…

This first one is one I brought last year from NEXT and it’s massive, it’s honestly the size of a picnic blanket but that’s kind of why I love it. Who doesn’t want to feel super snuggly and warm when you’re out visiting Christmas markets, or going for a day out with the kids, or even like I sometimes do – going to the seaside for the day. It’s camel and cream tonal range makes it super on trend and also so versatile with other outfits or coats, plus it’s wonderfully soft. It’s the perfect big wrap around and tuck into your jacket type of scarf, and let’s face it oversized scarfs are always in.

Next up is two of my favourite more woolly scarfs, the Grey one is from Topshop and the Berry one is from Tesco. These two are incredibly warm so are perfect for long autumnal walks and being adventurous, without compromising on style.  They have been made in a simple but classic style, and have both lasted me over 2 years, so have been through multiple washes, got stuck in coat zippers, got dropped in the snow and been pelted by the rain but are still in pretty good condition, although a quick blast in the tumble dryer does make them look a bit perkier. The Grey is a classic heather grey used in most of the fashion world, and the Berry is slightly more red toned than purple toned but is a beautiful colour none the less.

Now we have one of my favourite more jazzy scarfs, this one came from a little market stall but has lasted so well considering it’s over 4 years old. On each side it’s the opposite to the other, so one side is blue with gold circles and the other side is gold with blue circles. It’s royal blue and gold mix makes it a real dressy scarf, so if you’re like me and live in t-shirts and jeans then this will dress up your outfit and add a little sparkle to it, plus the difference in shapes on the scarf add a bit of dimension.

And last but certainly by no means least we have the oh so humble, Snood, people will say this isn’t a scarf but if it keeps you warm and goes round your neck, in my books it’s a scarf so tough. I picked this up from Primark about 2 years ago and it’s faired quite well so far, it looks great with a leather jacket for a no fuss look and is great for on the go because you haven’t got to spend tones of time sorting it out to look how you want it too, it’s just a donught essentially.

So there you have it, these are some of my favourite Autumn/Winter scarfs. Of course over Autumn/Winter you’ll see a HUGE variety over on Instagram ( @realist_review) but I’d love to know, what’s your favourite Autumn item?

Nike Haul

Nike Haul

I recently went along and visited the Nike Factory store at Resorts World Birmingham, which went ended up being spendy....okay very spendy. As this particular Nike store is a Factory store so it meant I got everything for less than retail price, and when you practically live in workout gear any sort of saving is a mini fist pump.

First up we have sports bras', I picked up one high impact (the white one) for the gym and one medium impact (the pink and black one) for my new found love, Pilates. A sports bra is a bra that provides support to your boobs and is studier than typical bras, they minimize discomfort and reduce potential damage. These fit so comfterably they hold you in without squishing you in, and with both of them being a racer back style they fit super easily in-between your shoulder blades.

Next up I picked up 2 new tops, both scoop necks so they sit nicely around your chest/shoulder area, I got one black short sleeve with a silver nike tick and a heather grey long sleeved top with the black nike tick. The short sleeved one has slightly rolled sleeves so it sits more so on the edge of your shoulders which for me is super comfy, the long sleeved one hits just below my wrists and the scoop neck area follows my collar bones to the edge as it curves round. The material of both of these tops is incredibly light and easy, they are both cotton and both move with your body.

And finally I got some more workout pants, finally, I picked up these kind of 3 quarter length workout pants -These are the tight fit so they are very very figure hugging but incredibly easy and move with your body really fluidly. I'm 5ft'6/7" and these hit about 2 inches or so below my knee so there perfect for those heavy hitting exercise sessions where comfort is key.

I did also pick up some new workout trainers, so keep an eye on the blog for those!
