My Everyday Look

My Everyday Look

I'm a creature of habit, I like knowing roughly what I'm going to do everyday and what look I'm aiming for, so today I thought I would let you into my current everyday make up. I tend to go for a emphasized contour and highlight but clean cut, soft-natural eyes, heavy mascara and defined brows. Then depending on my outfit, I'll switch up my lip colour so that could be a super glossy pink, or a matte red, or even a low shine purple whatever takes my fancy really. So ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for a no make up me....

For me, Concealer is THE most important thing that's going on my face because it's going to hide my huge dark circles and make it look like I've had 10 hours sleep, so the current guy for the job is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Classic Biege and for the rest of my face I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in ------ to hide redness around my nose and chin, but also for some light highlighting. I blend all of this with my Real Techniques Face Sponge until smooth and set with my Real Techniques brush and some Rimmel Stay All Day powder in Translucent.

For everyday wear, unless I'm in a real jazz it up mood, I tend to opt for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and use ---- all over my lid and either a bit of the Mary Loumanizer or one of the shimmery shades on the inner corner of my eye to add a bit of oomph.

For everyday looks I like to keep my foundation simple and easy, so that's either the Bare Minerals Complexion rescue in Natural, or the Original Foundation in Medium Biege. With both of these I always set it with some Bare Minerals Brightening Mineral Veil.

For adding a bit for warmth and dimension back into my face I tend to use the Bare Minerals 3 in 1 compact, this little space saver has blusher/bronzer/highlighter all in one and when swirled together it gives the most stunning glow.

I love using a cream contour to begin with and then setting it with a powder, so I use the Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo to carve out my cheekbones and then set it with powder from the Bare Minerals California Bronze palette.

For a subtle highlight I use the NARS Highlighting Blush in Tribulation (super golden) and for a more in your face highlight, which is most days, I use the Balm Mary Loumanizer (very silvery based), on the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose, top of my cupids bow, and just under my eyebrows to heighten the arch.

I am naturally blessed with longer lashes, thanks Mum, so when I use the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara in Waterproof they just get deepened and elongated, but for a bit of thickness I use the NARS Audacious mascara or the Benefit There Real.

For those Sarah Ashcroft inspired beautiful brows I've found the KIKO Shape and Shimmer, cheap as chips but absolutely amazing!  This gives me a super defined lasting brow.

To set all of my hard work in place I use the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray.

Fossil Iconic Rose Gold Bangle

Fossil Iconic Rose Gold Bangle

Let me hear you say; ahh how pretty! This is bangle was a gift off my other half for Christmas and I think it is THE most stunning rose gold bangle I have ever laid eyes on. The bangle is super glitzy thanks too the crystals but is such a classic design it makes it effortlessly chic.

I apologise for the lack of posting over the Festive period - I just wanted to overeat and sleep!

This is the Fossil Iconic rose gold bangle with crystals, can we just take a moment to appreciate it's beauty! I mean how pretty!! I've never owned rose gold jewellery before and I have to say as a starter piece for anyone of any skin tone or preference this is such a beautiful piece to have.

The bangle has individually set crystals continuously around the outside and features a tiny push lock clasp with the Fossil branding over it, I've personally found this makes it very secure and no matter how many times I bang it, it doesn't fall off nor get caught in anything. I've found pairing this bangle with other bangles/bracelets can make a really dimensional look or for simplistic expensive chic, wearing this on it's own/with my nomination bracelet looks super beautiful.

Keeping Motivated - Fitness Goals

Keeping Motivated - Fitness Goals
Staying motivated is hard and making sure we eat well and maintain our food regime is even harder, especially with those lovely Christmas cakes and treats just staring at us across the table, calling our name, tempting us with their cakey curves. So yeah, during the festive season we struggle to stay on track or maintain what we already have, I find it especially hard not to snack! So today I thought I would give you some motivational tips on how to stay on track when you’re not feeling it, these can be used during anytime of the year and as long as you have an end goal, you’ll breeze it.

I won’t witter on about how much you need to drink and how often you need to drink but it is super important to ensure your body is getting the correct hydration. If you struggle to drink water because you don’t like the taste – add some fruits to it, like Raspberry and Lemon, Mint and Strawberry or Orange and Pineapple, it’ll give you some flavour without the sugars! If you struggle with remembering to drink water buy a cheap 1 Litre water bottle, that you don’t mind writing on, get a permanent marker and write on how much you want to drink by what time. So for example you could want to drink a quarter of the bottle by 10:00am, then the next mark would be half by 12pm, then the next line three quarters by 4pm etc. Super easy but it’s a challenge and it will push you to do it.

Not what you where expecting, right? Eating 3 meals a day is great but it will leave you more prone to snacking on naughty foods, try to eat 6 smaller meals a day. For example I eat 2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 1 Small Snack/Meal, 1 Dinner and 1 Small Snack/Meal, this keeps me fuller for longer and allows me to refrain from snacking because I’m constantly eating/full . I’ve been eating 6 meals a day for a few months now and can honestly say I think that is what has contributed to my weight loss/toning because you’re not constantly craving food to eat, your satisfied with hunger levels and you don’t really want sugary foods because your insulin levels are consistent.

Try to steer clear of foods with high sugar contents, like for example fruits; some fruits can be mega high in sugar that isn’t necessarily saying it’s bad for you just try and subsisting it with some veggies instead or even nuts, they say 15 mixed nuts a day can do amazing things for your body, or even some sugar snap peas; pop them bad boys out of the pods and you have instant crunchy loveliness. Obviously try to avoid overeating the chocolate and sweets but if you do have a sweet tooth try to find some healthier or organic alternatives, you’ll still curb your sugar craving but they won’t be as bad for you as that whole bar of Galaxy, that I may or may not have eaten whilst writing this post.

TRY TO EAT 80/20
As hard as it is and as hard as  I try, try to eat a 80/20 diet meaning you try to eat clean and healthy 80% of the time and treat yo’self to whatever you fancy 20% of the time. So if I’ve eaten super good one day and I mean seriously good but there’s a big wedge of chocolate fudge cake in the fridge, or some gooey lovely ice cream in the freezer, I’ll have it because I don’t want to deprive my body of what it wants. You should always treat/reward yourself for eating clean, if you can’t indulge when you fancy it when can you?

Okay so I assume by now you’ve all heard of “ #Fitspiration “ it’s basically your Fitness Goals/Inspiration, what you want to achieve. I believe in setting yourself Short term, Half Term and Long Term goals, so the short term goal might be that you want to shift some weight,  the half term goal might be that you want to tone up and the long term goal might be maintenance or focusing on specific area(s).  This will honestly make your fitness journey so much easier, take photos of yourself at the beginning of each goal and you will see such a difference when you compare them later on. Follow inspirational people on your social medias’, work out harder when you train and really try to push your limits, you WILL feel better for it.

Spring/Summer 2016 Trends

Spring/Summer 2016 Trends

I asked on Twitter what you guys wanted to see more of on the blog and a lot of my US readers said Fashion; Whether that be more fashion look books, more fashion trends for the next season, more outfit of the day etc because the UK, especially those living in the centre of it like London, are very ‘Fashion Forward’ so we try to be one step ahead of the game and really strut our stuff. I mean come on, who doesn’t want a tone of Instagram loving because your rocking those Autumn/Winter thigh high boots that every man and his dog wants. So, let’s begin shall we? These are only a few of my favourite trends for Spring/Summer 2016 but I can see them being huge.

Unequivocally the sexiest slice of skin to show for S/S'16, the shoulder is fashion's new legs. Especially when accompanied by a halter-strap. And really, who has fat shoulders? No-one. We're thrilled. The ever-popular off-the-shoulder tops that won summer 2015 are already a thing of the past; shoulders for spring are either largely exaggerated or come with. Whether they're puffed or public, you'll be paying attention to your shoulders like never before.

This is the 1990s trend that doesn't feel like (try)hard work. Tailoring in all it's serious glory was a staple, if unexpected, part of the spring line-up for many of the industry's most influential designers. The new suit is anything but traditional; twisted takes on tailoring were a more conceptual idea during the shows.

These are already a staple in places like America but seem to be creeping in across the UK, especially with more fitness bloggers for a casual but chic look. The baseball cap, I’ve found, is so underrated as a style staple - it can make a dressier outfit look more edgy , a fitness outfit look more professional or a simple jeans and t-shirt combo look more subdued.

Never has fashion seemed so relaxed; Tracksuits, track pants, track tops and other easy pieces appeared at runway shows. The tracksuit has made a strong case for uniform dressing of the most comfortable kind but paired with a cute bag and the right shoes they can look effortlessly attractive.

When the no-brainer shirtdress came in, offering something for both conservatives and exhibitionists the world went mad for them. From the super-short, to twisted with extra-long cuffs, to shredded and collar popped and laced up the front, there were many takes on the closet staple. Even the high street stores have taken a more wearable take on this much loved runway trend.

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein

Want something that tastes super amazing and does so much good for you, well let me introduce you to the MyProtein Impact Whey Protein, in Chocolate Brownie. This stuff has over 80% Protein per serving alongside contributing to the growth and maintenance of muscle.

The MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is made-up of 100% premium grade why protein concentrate, so you know there's none of the rubbish in there. It has an amino acid profile proving all the essential EAA's your body needs and has over 2g of Leucine per serving! Not only does this protein powder taste the best I've tried so far, it's amazing value for money! I have the 1KG bag of Chocolate Brownie and it's only £15.79

I've tried many different brands of protein powder and so far this is my ultimate winner, it's such a good one for all types of athletes in all different situations.  The high protein content will contribute to the growth and also maintenance of lean muscle mass, which is currently what i"m trying to achieve. This product is ideal for anyone looking to increase there protein intake, and I would recommend taking this once before your training session and twice after.

The first 30 minutes after a workout are THE most important, so ensuring you eat a high protein/carb meal is so so important to replace the carbs you've burned but also protein will aid muscle maintenance. This protein powder can be used with water or with milk, but personally oddly I find it tastes better with water and an ice cube or two.
This protein powder would be perfect for any of you and with such a variety in flavours, there will be something for everyone. Plus with the run up to Black Friday the MyProtein site has tones of deals on!

TOP TIP - The MyProtein Pancake mix is the bomb as a pre workout meal!!

What’s In My Gym Bag

Tuesday, 8 December 2015

What’s In My Gym Bag
Well, to be honest not that much because I usually have handbag that could knock someone unconscious with the amount that the thing has in it. I like to pack light and only the essentials to the gym, mainly because my gym is tiny and the lockers aren’t hugely spacious but also because I’m getting fed up of carrying jumbo sized heavy bags. Depending on the day and what I’m doing after I do sometimes shower at the gym but if not I’ll wait until I get home and I can properly cleanse my face and do my routine.

My gym bag is probably overdue being replaced, I mean it’s not in such a condition where it desperately needs to be replaced but after 4 years I could probably do with a new one. I have a Grey Oakley duffle type bag, it has 2 small press stud pockets on the front of the bag and a large inner zipped pocket on the inside of the bag perfect for shoving all my junk in.

We’ll start with the outer pockets, in these I have a small fold up hair brush with a mirror on the other side, space saving.  A spare pair of trainer socks as I always seem to forget to pack a pair, a pair of headphones which I actually don’t really use because my arm strap annoys me – keep an eye out for a post on Bluetooth headphone’s as I’m on the hunt for some. Hand sanitizer because I refuse to get ill off other peoples germs and you don’t know where their hands have been…just saying, my padlock for the lockers, a couple of hair ties and hair slides, and some dextro (I have a lagging insulin intake so combined with iron deficiency anaemia, it takes me 10x longer than your normal average person to absorb sugars/energy from food, so if I feel faint or my sugar levels drop these stop me from going into hypoglycaemic shock).

In the main area of the bag I keep my gym trainers, which at the moment are the Nike Roshe Run’s in the colour Bone, or the Nike Flex Trainers in Black my leggings – I switch between Dynomos and Gymshark, until I can buy some more, my workout top – again just Dynomos, and my gym socks. We then have my gym towel which is a god send for packing light and space saving, some Nivea body wash and Vaseline Spray and Go moisturiser because I have dragon skin, and some Simple face wipes – I do try to work out make up free but I do go to the gym straight from work.

And as always to hand is my phone, currently the Samsung S6 and my water bottle which is from the brand Bobble Bottle.

Kate Spade New York Felix

Kate Spade New York Felix Bag

After treating my partner to a weekend away for this birthday in Bicester Village, he then treated me to a Kate Spade handbag...yeah, he's a gooden. So may I introduce you to my new little baby!
This is the Kate Spade New York Felix Bag, in Black, this is a small but smart little bag that has tones of character. The bag has gold detailing and the classic Kate Spade New York embossing on gold at the front of the bag. It's spacious enough inside to fit things like my Ted Baker purse, make up bag, umbrella, Raybans, phone charger etc without weighing my shoulder/hand down and looking bulky.

This bag is a dream to have, the gold detailing means the main zipped closure runs from one end of the bag to the other meaning all your valuables are locked safely away but easily assessable when needed. Inside there's two small compartments for things like, car keys/house keys, lipstick etc, and a zipped pocket on the opposite side to keep all your personal bits and pieces safe.

The bag also has a long detachable strap that can be used so it becomes a cross body bag, or as I prefer a shoulder bag and because the strap is adjustable it means the bottom of the bag hits just above my hip bone so when walking it fits comfterably under my arm and hand and with the metal feet at the base of the bag, when you put it down the base of the bag won't get scratched and easily ruined. Plus the detachable strap means that for an evening look, you can remove the strap and have a super smart structured look.
