ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

Say hello to your new favourite anti-ageing cream for your twenty-somethings. I received this as an early birthday present off my parents and I had very high expectations for this product based on all the reviews and the cost!  It’s like a pound per ml.

This is the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and this will now be your new best friend if you’re in your twenty-somethings and looking into investing in your anti-ageing regime. This is a clinically proven product that has been shown to reduce the depth of wrinkles, improve skin firmness, tone and hydration in 15 days, and now that I can vouch for as my skin feels so supple and young.

This cream has unique Mediterranean algae called Padina Pavonica that has been shown to dramatically increase the quantity of Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) within the skin. By special cell communication, these water-attracting GAGs are responsible for skin moisturisation, improving suppleness, firmness and elasticity. In addition, this cream also includes Ginkgo Biloba providing superior free-radical protection that has been blended with precious Rose and Mimosa Absolutes, thus creating the ultimate anti-ageing cream from ELEMIS designed to adapt to your skin.

This cream is the perfect everyday cream if you’re interested in protecting your skin against the early signs of aging but don’t want to go full blown with it. The texture of this cream is not what you would expect, it picks up and blends at first like a cream but as you continually massage this into your face it seeps into the skin in an almost gel like texture. Now personally, my skin drinks this product up and I’ve found that the cream adapts to your skin, so if a certain area needs it more it seems to just know to be absorbed faster.

I noticed an improvement in skin texture within a couple of days of using this cream, my skin felt so hydrated and any dry patches seemed to have disappeared. Plus my makeup applies so fluidly and evenly after using this in the morning, it doesn’t cling anywhere and it makes my base look flawless.

ELEMIS Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser
This ELEMIS Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser was an early birthday present off my parents and I am so thankful for it, it’s amazing. This cleanser is so thick and luxurious you only need a pea sized amount to do you face / neck / décolletage and the rest! This is an ultimate in luxury skincare and for the price you won’t be breaking the bank either.

Now, if were all being honest here the first time I used this I did use way too much! I literally could have cleansed my whole body with it, so it just goes to show how concentrated this product is. This is a deep cleansing cream with a super thick consistency that will help defend against daily pollutants and dissolves make-up and grime so effortlessly, so you get that true radiant youthful looking complexion every wash.

This cleanser is scientifically formulated with skin-protecting Moringa Seed Peptide, balancing Great Burdock, and anti-oxidant rich Noni and Assai Fruits; The active fragrances of Sweet Brazilian Orange, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Patchouli veil the face, whilst essential plant extracts purify and richly moisturise dehydrated skin.

This cleanser is quite fragranced when first applied to the skin but once massaged in the scent becomes very subtle and enjoyable. This cleanser melts my makeup off and makes my skin feel rejuvenated an

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I was recently lucky enough to receive one of my birthday presents very early, off my parents. Now this particular present I have been lusting after for some time now but could never bring myself to buy it because of the price, so when I got given this I was over the moon to say the least!

May I introduce you to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, insert angelic praising noise; this palette contains a trio of the Hourglass best-selling Ambient Lighting powders and a limited edition shade. The two existing shades are Dim Light and Radiant Light, and the new limited edition shade, exclusive to this palette, is Incandescent Light. These powders are incredibly rich and creamy to touch, and glide onto the skin with stunning pigmentation without looking chunky.

Incandescent Light: An opalescent pearl powder that highlights the cheekbones and brightens the complexion with a celestial, holiday glow.

Dim Light: A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with a balance of warm and cool tones.
Radiant Light: A sun-kissed golden beige powder that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth.

The powders capture, diffuse and soften the way light is reflected onto the skin, they aim to brighten the appearance, and conceal imperfections, pores and wrinkles, giving you that real youthful true to yourself look without being cakey. Unlike traditional powders that use opaque pigments, Ambient utilises "photoluminescent technology"-micron-size,soft-focus particles that refract light and create transparent coverage, which is what makes them so different to any other ‘lighting powders’ out on the current market.

I’ve not seen another brand do a highlighter such justice as Hourglass and I think these powders will look stunning on every skin tone and texture. Plus, they are Paraben, Talc, Fragrance, Nano-Particle and Gluten Free!! So no matter what your allergy to make up is, this brand does cater to your needs.

My Top 5 Healthy Holiday Tips

#ProjectForeverBody - My Top 5 Healthy Holiday Tips

I know what you’ll say but you need to relax on holiday and take a break, and yes your right you do but you can still make healthy choices! I’m not saying don’t smash that burger and chips with a fizzy drink but maybe have a glass of water with it too and a side salad, being on holiday doesn’t mean you have to lose your way in your healthy lifestyle.

Want a cocktail or two by the pool? Go for it but in between those cocktails have a pint or two of water, ensuring your body is continuously hydrated will ensure you don’t get sun stroke and won’t dehydrate your body from the inside out.

Just because you’ve gone all inclusive doesn’t mean you have to eat every morsel in sight, only eat as much as you would at home and only when you’re hungry. Most of the time we eat because were bored not because were hungry, so try having a glass of water when you’re hungry and if you’re still hungry after about 20 minutes then have a snack or meal.
I don’t know how many ‘brits abroad’ I see burnt to a crisp because they haven’t taken care of their skin. Don’t be one of these British Lobsters, apply sun cream 15-20 minutes before you leave your room this will ensure it is absorbed by your skin, and continuously reapply throughout the day. Always wear a hat or stay in the shade between 12pm-3pm this is the hottest and most dangerous point of the day for sunstroke and burning.

From the minute you get to the airport to the minute you return, stay active and move that butt! Waiting to board your flight? Don’t just sit there have a walk around the airport. Bored by the pool? Get your trainers on and go explore! Bored in the pool? Get swimming, if you’re holidaying with your partner have some fun and race each other. Don’t be a lizard, get that heart rate up.

All that basking in the sun can be tiring but that doesn’t mean you should neglect your joints, in the evenings make sure you take 10 – 20 minutes to either do some Yoga, Pilates or even just some basic stretching, this will make sure that your joints stay supple and if you do some energetic activity the next day it won’t be such a shock to your body.

How do you keep healthy on holiday? Share your tips below!

Olay Total Effects 7 Eye Transforming Cream

Olay Total Effects 7 Eye Transforming Cream
I refuse to get old, point blank refuse it’s just not happening. For me, the first signs of aging are the eyes; if you’ve lost the lustre in your eyes then you’ve stopped living life and just exist in it. So when I was on the hunt for a new eye cream I wanted something that was going to keep my looking young and healthy but without being too heavy on anti-aging.

Introducing the Olay Total Effects 7 Eye Transforming Cream this is all-in-one vitamin-rich complex that delivers 7 gentle skin benefits around your eyes, without being too rich that it isn’t absorbed. This eye cream is extremely creamy and a thicker consistency than most, which makes it feel super hydrating on the skin.

This eye cream is clinically proven to;

1.       Reduce puffiness

2.       Renews skin texture

3.       Reduce the appearance of blotchiness

4.       Minimize the appearance of dark circles

5.       Diminish the appearance of fine wrinkles

6.     Give moisture to the epidermis around the eyes

7.     Give skin a radiant appearance

To be fair, I wasn’t super impressed when I first applied this – I did expect some sort of instant result but after continual use I am impressed. The texture under and around my eyes has improved dramatically, especially when applying concealer I feel it doesn’t look as cakey and resemble a crepe. My under eyes look brighter and more like me again, and the general firmness seems to have improved, I don’t feel as though there being dragged down.

SLEEK MakeUp Highlighter Palette – Solstice

SLEEK MakeUp Highlighter Palette – Solstice
I’ll admit it, at first I wasn’t sold on this palette. For me drugstore highlighters just don’t cut the mustard but I have been seeing this bad boy EVERYWHERE, and I mean everywhere, even Jeffree Star uses this! So I thought I’d take the plunge and just give it a go after some impressive in store swatches.

This is the SLEEK MakeUp Highlighter Palette in Solstice, and it is beautiful. This palette has a very hard sturdy metal casing, which is rare to find in cheaper products, inside is a huge mirror, mini powder brush and 4 highlighting shades. Now these highlighters are packaged in a stunning mirrored rose gold case, which for me is ridiculously aesthetically pleasing but so hard to keep clean! Pros and cons. The powder brush is good for on the go but personally I prefer to use my Real Techniques fan brush for a more precise and opaque application.

So, let’s run through the shades;
Ecliptic; This is the only cream product in the quad and is a stunning golden mauve metallic, that gives a real metallic, razor sharp cheekbone look.

Hemisphere; Is a purple powder (weird) … but when subtly placed on the skin it gives you a really ethereal glow.

Subsolar; Is a beautiful yellow based powder highlighter; this would suit any skin tone thanks to the depth in tones.

Equinox; Is the warm toned orange out of this quad, it gives true warmth and glow to the skin.

These highlighters are so highly pigmented and exquisitely creamy, even the powders just glide right on. They give a stunning metallic finish to the skin, which is super on trend this season anyway, and just give you a luminous glowy look. These highlighters will really enhance your complexion and they’ll last all day on the skin, without dragging down the face. You could use these highlighters on your body too but for summer I suggest you dust a bit on your collar bones and shoulders to really glimmer.

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer - Pink Ruby

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer - Pink Ruby

So I wanted a super different lip colour and I wasn't sure what I wanted, exactly, I didn't know if I wanted a new lip liner, lipstick or lipgloss. So I walked into the Tesco Beauty Department probably the most open minded I've ever been, and then I saw this stunner.

This is the first lip gloss I’ve ever tried in this formula - it’s wax free! Photos just cannot do the colour of this gloss righteousness; it’s a true bright deep pink with this incandescent shimmer of purple running through it. The first application of this gloss is so opaque that you could get away with just once coat, it has a vivid high-impact super shine and feels very gel like and bouncy on the lips. Now, as this is a lip gloss it will still be sticky and for us long haired ladies out there, it will most likely get stuck to your hair – so just wear your hair up.

Although this is quite a bouncy formula, it does feel very lightweight and not really there. Now the packaging is simple but somehow for me, so aesthetically pleasing it’s a standard plastic tube with screw top lid and has a gem that covers the top of the lid, but the inside of the tube, I feel, has a much higher neck. It makes me feel like I’m not wasting tones of product by getting it everywhere when I take it out, and the higher neck means any excess product stays in the bottle. One thing that did surprise me with this product, is that for a Revlon lip gloss it doesn’t have the standard doe foot applicator, instead you have a brush. Now don’t get me wrong it works beautifully for this product, as it almost gets the most amount of product out of the tube without soaking it up like a doe foot.

The only thing I’m not a 100% fan of is the way it wears, throughout the day; I found I had to reapply this a bit between meals as the centre had faded out. Now for a lip gloss this isn’t ‘unusual’ but the way it wore as a bit odd, compared to what I’m used to.

Acrylic Nails - The Low Down

Acrylic Nails - The Low Down
I’ve been getting Acrylic nails on and off for a good few years now, but over the past few months I’ve been getting them consistently. Now, I get so so so many questions about acrylics and have also myself asked many questions myself because I want to know more about what I’m doing to my nails; so I thought I’d do a low down on Acrylics for you today. Whether you’re thinking of getting them done, have had them done or are just intrigued, there will be something for everyone in today’s post.

Acrylic Nails;
Artificial nails, also known as fake nails, false nails, fashion nails, nail enhancements, or nail extensions, are coverings placed over fingernails as fashion accessories. Some artificial nails attempt to mimic the appearance of real fingernails as closely as possible, while other designs may deliberately stray in appearance from real fingernails.
Acrylic nails are based upon your own natural nail; they are applied from the base and worked down the nail to the requested shape. Thickness can vary for each nail technician but you should never have clumpy or very thick nails, and they should all be consistent!! If you can, always go to a nail technician with experience! My current nail technician, Kelly, has been doing beauty for years now and her acrylics can last up to 6 weeks before looking shabby!!!
This is totally up to you! You can go as simple or as fun as you please. The design aspect is what personally drew me to getting my nails done, don’t get me wrong I love a basic design but sometimes I do love out of the box designs on my nails. The best thing to do is to find a picture of your desired design or colour and show your nail technician, this will enable them to see what you envisage.

Ideally you should be getting your nails maintained every 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow but this is totally down to your lifestyle. Once you have your nails on, your next appointment should be your infills – this just tidies the base up and you have some length off, the appointment after this should be a fresh set! Never have the same base of your nails for more than 2 appointments; this is when damage to your natural nail can start to happen.

To be honest, you don’t have to do too much to ‘care’ for your acrylics but I would always strongly suggest that after every fourth or fifth set, take a break. Let your nails have a month without the acrylic and let them breathe – this will prevent damage in the long run. When you wash your hands or take a shower, thoroughly towel dry around the nails this will ensure the risk of infection or water getting under the nail is minimal.
Have you ever had acrylics before? Recommend your nail technician in the comments below!

Quay Australia Every Little Thing Cat Eye (Pink Mirror Lenses)

Quay Australia Every Little Thing Cat Eye (Pink Mirror Lenses)

It took me forever and a day to decide if I wanted to take the plunge and buy some Quay sunglasses, as I love my Rayban Aviators so much. So when I was having a good root around ASOS, I stumbled across these little lovelies. These are from the brand Quay Australia and are the Every Little Thing Cat Eye (Pink MirrorLenses) version, these are so lightweight it’s unreal.

Looking at the other types online I feared that these would be very heavy and uncomfterably weighty on my face but they are so easy to wear and so unlike what I already have. These sunglasses have total UV protection so will still be protecting your eyes, whilst looking on trend, the pink mirror lenses mean minimal glare and the adjustable silicone nose pads mean you have added comfort.

These sunglasses feel very Dior inspired and the Silver hardware is something I don’t normally turn towards but for some reason it just really worked with these glasses, the grey toned casing gives the sunglasses a much cooler tone and makes them more expensive and luxurious looking. The pink mirrored lenses make these glasses very feminine but also delicate, whilst the tapered silver arms give a secure but fashionable fit.

I must admit the QUAY Australia brand, and these sunglasses in particular, are very blogger forward and I can see myself using these in many a blog post purely because of how pretty they are. The lenses are slightly oversized but don’t seem as big in person, which is a good thing as I was worried that these would over shadow my face. Yes, they may be a fashion trend and I may not even like them by the time next summer comes but for £35 there definitely worth the money!

Do you own any Quay sunglasses? What’s your favourite style?

Jewellery - Why I Mix my Metals

Friday, 1 July 2016

Jewellery - Why I Mix my Metals
I love contrast, whether that be in materials, or metals, or textures, or colours, I love defying the rules of fashion. It’s fun. For me, the best way to mix up my contrast is with the metals that I wear, it also means if you’re not super confident and don’t want to wear a pair of bright blue trousers with a bright red jumper, mixing metals is a more subtle but effective contrast.

My main daily metals are standard gold studs, I can’t wear Silver in my ears, a stainless steel and white ceramic TAG Heur watch, and my stainless steel nomination bracelet; These will always be the basis to every single look, there my staples. But some days I like to add things to them and mix it up, this can be from fabric pieces with metal accents, or bold metal pieces it just depends on the look I want to go for that particular day and how I want that outfit to look.

Rose Gold – I love the contrast of Rose gold to stainless steel, there’s something about it that is just so consistency on trend and effortless looking. So for those days where I want to look a bit more chic and put together looking, I’ll pair things like this ASOS double bar necklace with my Swarovski crystal pendant to bring the attention into the neck and also create a beautifully simple layering effect. Then I’ll had this Fossil rose gold bangle to the wrist with my Nomination on to create a clash, the bangle with create the simplicity and the Nomination will add the diversity thanks to the charms.
Silver – I don’t tend to wear Silver a great deal but when I do I like it to be super simple, so my pink pendant silver necklace will come out to play, followed by my Pandora feather ring and this for me is enough to create a statement. I will usually wear a super simple outfit so the eye is drawn into the silver accents.

Yellow Gold – I am an avid Yellow Gold wearer; I love it and think it’s just so effortlessly beautiful. So for days where I want a super luxurious looking gold day I’ll pair my gold bangle (18th birthday gift), or maybe some fashion jewellery with gold accents – like my starfish bracelet, my diamond ring (gifted by my Mum), and either something super simplistic like my gold heart and rope, or something really extravagant like this chunky fashion gold double chain.
So, whatever metal you prefer to wear don’t feel like you have to make it look conservative, be adventurous. Defy the rules and mix your metals, you’ll be surprised at what you can create.
What’s your favourite way to mix and match?
